Founded by Abdulrahman NasserAl-Agil, the Jarir Bookstore is a Saudi Arabian firm that originally sold secondhand books and artwork sourced from expats living in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh. Today, it is Saudi Arabia’s largest book and electronics retailer. The company made its first Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2003 and at present, 1/3rd of its shares is traded on the Saudi Arabian Tadawul Stock Exchange. The Jarir Bookstore operates via 33 branches that are located across 14 cities within Saudi Arabia. The store also runs five branches in other GCC countries including Qatar, UAE and Abu Dhabi.
