Maaden, or the Saudi Arabian Mining Company, is one of the most diversified mining companies in the world and is highly active on the fields of mining gold base metals. The company was formed in 1997 as a part of the Saudi joint stock company to facilitate the development of the mineral resources present in Saudi Arabia. Maaden is the largest mining company that exists in Saudi Arabia and the government of Saudi owns 50 percent of the shares of this company. The other 50 percent of the shares are listed in the stock market, known as Tadawul. The company owns several subsidiaries and has its headquarters at Riyadh.
